Some Android devices even let you edit the folder name.
Once selected, you see an option to edit the shortcut before adding. Here you should see the preview of the shortcut icon that’s being added. Tap on the Try this Shortcut button to preview the file you will be adding to the home screen. It will open the default file manager that came installed with your phone.

That’s it, you have successfully added the file or folder shortcut on your Android phone’s home screen. The shortcut created will have the shortcut maker icon on top of it but you can remove it too. You can even change the color of the folder and add more icons.
You should see both of the icons appear inside a box. Tap the Shortcut icon in the bottom right-hand corner to create the shortcut. To create a folder on your Android home screen, first put two of your favorite apps on your home screen. To do so, long-press the app, then drag it on top of another. Some Android devices will allow you to rename the folder, too. You can also drag it to the row of your favorite apps.
Not all phones name the folder automatically. If yours doesn't, you will simply be prompted to type a name when you first create the folder. A cool feature is the ability to create split shortcuts so that you can launch two apps with one tap easily. Each Home screen page on your Android sports a grid that holds only so many app icons. Even when you can add more pages, an upper limit exists. To create a new folder, you simply press the app icon and drag it to the desired location. You can then rename the folder by typing a new name in the text field.
Other phones may not let you drag two icons together to build a folder, as described in Steps 1 and 2. On those phones, long-press the Home screen and choose the Create Folder or Folder command. Name the folder, and then touch the OK button to create it. At that point, you can drag icons into the folder.
